First, the honest bit

You do not need to register your assistance dog.

There is no UK government register and no official certificate. Your right to have your dog with you in shops, taxis, hospitals, hotels and restaurants comes from the Equality Act 2010, with or without us.

So why carry anything? Because the person at the door is often guessing. The card is not for you, it is for them. It gives a straight answer in about ten seconds, so you do not have to argue.

We are the register that tells you plainly that you do not need us. That is why you can trust what we do say.

Registration here is voluntary. It does not create legal rights and it is not a government service. What it gives you is a clear, checkable record to hand over, instead of a conversation you did not want to have.

Where it earns its place

Four doorways. Four questions you are tired of answering.

The law is on your side in all of them. The card makes it quick for the other person to see that.

Shops, cafés, restaurants Sorry, no dogs.

A business cannot refuse you, or charge you extra, because of your assistance dog.

What opensTap the card. A Registered badge, the ID number and your rights under the Equality Act.
Taxis and private hire I do not take dogs.

Drivers must carry an assistance dog at no extra charge, unless they hold a medical exemption certificate.

What opensThe same live profile, on your phone or in your Wallet, before the door is shut.
Hospital, GP, dentist Which department allows this?

Reception staff are often unsure of the policy and do not want to get it wrong.

What opensA clear record for the desk, and an emergency contact button if you are ever unwell.
Hotels and holiday lets Our policy is no pets.

A “no pets” rule is not a lawful reason to turn away an assistance dog.

What opensProof that your dog is registered and a link to the guidance, without a phone call or a debate.

None of this depends on our card. The card just means you spend less of your day explaining it.

What they see

Tap the card. This is what opens.

The person at the door does not need an app, an account or a password. They tap your card on their phone, or scan the QR code, and your live profile opens on their screen.

Registration is voluntary and does not create legal rights. Your dog’s access rights come from the Equality Act 2010 whatever you choose, or if you choose nothing.

Questions

Straight answers.

If the law does not require it, why pay?

You are not paying for a legal right, you already have it. You are paying for speed and calm: a card, a hi-vis vest and a live profile that answer the question for the person in front of you, so you are not explaining the Equality Act in a queue. If you would rather not pay, the free law card and a free account with the dashboard tools are there.

What if someone still says no?

Stay calm, say that your dog is an assistance dog and that you are protected by the Equality Act 2010, and ask to speak to a manager. Note the name, place and time. You can get free advice from the Equality Advisory and Support Service, and our Rights Assistant walks you through the next step. We cannot promise every business will accept a card, and nobody honestly can.

Is this official ID or certification?

No. There is no UK government register or certificate for assistance dogs. Assistance Dog Registry is a voluntary private register. The card is a checkable record you chose to create, not a legal document.

Is my dog eligible? Can I train my own?

Under the Equality Act an assistance dog is a dog trained to carry out tasks that help with a disability. There is no size, breed or training-school requirement, and owner-trained dogs are welcome. If your animal helps by comfort and company, ESA Support UK may suit you better.

Does the tap work on an iPhone?

Yes. Modern iPhones and Android phones read the NFC chip in the card, and any phone camera reads the QR code. You can also add the pass to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet from your dashboard.

How long until my pack arrives?

Typically 6 to 10 working days from payment, by Royal Mail Tracked 48, UK addresses only. We email your tracking number when it is dispatched. We make the cards once your photos are uploaded, and your online profile works while you wait.

What exactly does £129.50 cover? What is the postage?

£129.50 is the whole Lifelong Partner Pack and your lifelong registration. Royal Mail Tracked 48 postage is £3.95, so the total at checkout is £133.45, charged once. There are no renewals.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. At checkout you can split the payment with Klarna or Clearpay.

What if my card is lost or damaged?

Lifelong members get one free replacement card in any 12 months, for any reason. Further replacements within the same 12 months are charged at the replacement price.

Not ready to buy? Fair enough.
